Introduction
The Centre for Policy Analysis (CPA) started the Youth Leadership Program to provide a leadership training to the youth. Starting in the year 2019, the program intends to help the youth to increase their leadership capacity by giving classes, mentorship and networking. The trainees will be selected from all the six regions of Somaliland and will be between the ages of 19 to 25. Inspired by the Yali leadership program, the seven days long extensive training intends to help those who have proven record of positive contributions.
The program includes one-week training that will be held in Hargeisa. CPA will host the trainees and will provide accommodation, meals and transportation. The focus of the training will be on civic leadership. It will consist of class sessions, site visits and networking activities. The overall participants will be 24 trainees selected from the six regions in equal numbers (four per region).
The objective of the program is to enhance the leadership capability in Somaliland by supporting the young leaders. This will create Somaliland’s future leaders.
Eligibility
The program is open for everyone who fulfils the following requirements:
- Aged between 19 to 25;
- Somaliland citizens or have permanent residence in Somaliland.
- Proficient in English and Somali;
Selection process

The program is merit based competition. All applications will be reviewed by a committee. After reviewing the applications, a short list will be made. Those on the short list will be interviewed. The criteria of the evaluation will be:
- Proven record of leadership;
- Commitment to volunteer and help the society;
- Communications skills;
- Commitment to apply lessons to day to day activities;
No documents will be accepted when the form is sent. Application should be sent by the deadline. Any application sent after the deadline will not be considered. The application should be filled in English.
